Previous | Home | NextJust to the southeast of the cathedral is the Old Academy Building (Vanha Akatemiatalo), at Rothoviuksenkatu 2. Parts of this building predate the Great Fire of 1827, but most of the old building was destroyed or severely damaged, along with two centuries of collections. Today the building is used for various university and civic functions, and also for the Court of Appeals (Hövratten).
